In a word... Humidititties

Mia Garlock

But for real though, it's baaaddd.

It's been ruthlessly muggy here for the last three days. The sky constantly threatening impending storms but the Sun is too hot to allow it. So we're just swimming in the air.

It's not really great for working out in, I'll tell ya that. And not just because it's 93 degrees and 100% humidity, more so that my lungs are wondering why in the fuck I'm trying to inhale water. I am not fish. Am Human. Need Air.

So I'll admit it, I've been laying low since I did the Lord of Bloodshed's workout the other day. Not just because I'm sore, but because of the moisture content in the sky. I've been making sure I walk every day, and I've actually hit 8k steps every day the last week. Between walking my 9 acre property and taking the kids to the beach so we can chill out in the water, I've been stepping a lot.

While at the beach, I make sure I always have my sword. Even if it's too hot to really get into the swings, I like to practice the slow controlled motions. The MOTUS of Valkyrie Month if you will. I should probably spend some time getting back into shadow boxing too but for now, I'm going to continue to carry my practice sword on the beach and feel like a badass as often as I can.

I've also gotten a little tan, but not tan enough to rid me of the tan lines I still have from the Manitou Incline hike with the Valkyries a damned year ago. It's the worst sunburn I've had in my near 36 years on this rock, and I'm beginning to wonder if it will ever fade enough that I can't see my sports bra lines from last summer.

I remember telling Bestie that she was just gonna have to tell herself Happy Solstice if she saw too much tiddy in our hotel room, because this burn was too intense for clothing.

RIP my skin circa 2023.

I'm taking another mini road trip this weekend down to Ohio to see my friend Angie. She's like a big sister to me, and I love every conversation we have. She's been raising pigs for a few months now and they're enormous, it's time to harvest them and send them to Freezer Camp, and since I have knowledge and skills in this particular area, I'm taking my family and we're visiting for the weekend to assist. And of course forage for all of the things on her property because what else do you do in the woods with your favorite witchy earth mama friend?

The answer is nothing, you frolic in the woods and forage things and drink tea and eat food like a good hobbit.
