Gains, Baby, Gains
I'm so sore I don't know how I'm going to manage work today. Like I took my shower and I got into my pajamas because I'm so sore I want to cry at the thought of wearing real pants. I'll have to do it in an hour, but for this first hour I'm going to be comfy.
I tackled my usual workout, starting with 15 minutes of mobility to warm everything up. Hips, Shoulders, Spine, Ankles, more Hips again. And then a little bit of deep core to get everything turned on and ready to move heavy shit.
And I dove right into upper body work, doing lat pulls, and lat rows, push ups, and bicep curls. I stayed at the same weight I have been using 20-25lbs and it's been moving the same it has been moving. Slow and steady, though maybe slightly less burny this morning. Still. I was sweating so I powered through.
Then I went in for some legs and glutes because it's my favorite. Step Ups on the 3rd porch step so I get a deep pull in the glute as I push off the ground. Deadlifts, and then B Stance, which moved super easily, and then curtsey lunges.
I moved on into core after this, but my brain kept going back to how fast I was doing my deadlifts. How easily I was plowing through even B stance.
So I wrapped up the core work I was doing, and went back to my weights for one final set. I added 10lbs to my dumbbells, making it 55lbs. And I started my Deadlift set all over again.
Oh bebe, did it move slow. But I felt that burn deep in my glutes, and that's what I wanted. That's the feeling that will bring on the growth I've been wanting back there. So I repped it out, 10 reps on each side, and then b stance too.
Now, I'm so sore I can't wear pants, and standing up is entirely a non option. Also my muscles are still shaking. I think tomorrow might be a rest day.
Thank fuck for my BCAAs and pigeon pose. Though I might wish for a massage gun later.
